Here is a fictitious scenario that will hopefully help you get started. Remember: Mary and John are not real people so please make up additional details about thier lives to weave into your speech.

Your friend, Mary, is marrying John. Mary is a horse riding enthusiast who manages a pharmacy. She met John four years ago at an equestrian event. John was working with the camera crew filming the event. You have been friends with Mary for about 15 years, you lived next door to her as a child. Mary has asked you to be her Maid of Honor or Bridesmaid at her wedding. Of course you will need to give a speech!

Please use the structure below as a loose guideline:

1. Introduction – who I am in relation to bride
2. Thanks for the honor of speaking & being a bridesmaid
3. History of your relationship to bride
4. Amusing stories about bride
5. Affirmation of bride and groom's relationship – how good they are together
6. The truth about the bride – something the groom will have to live with
7. Words of advice
8. Wishes for the couple – bride in particular
9. Toast

Please try to include:
a. At least one joke or humorous observation
b. One quote from a famous politician, historical figure or celebrity
c. Two or three anecdotes, ideally one anecdote should involve the groom

This speech should be between 600 - 1000 words.
